Game, Video and Travel alert!

TGIF! How well you know about gravity? See for yourself with this game (Ramesh you too, its manly & age appropriate :P). The dynamics of it left me totally addicted so much that I am wondering why the words have not fallen off from my screen. By the way I have completed all levels with very little cheating ;) A friend of mine passed me this video . When the Genius, Pranav said he wants to make the technology available to everyone, I went speechless. While businessmen are making money in every area, here is an untainted soul that believes in sharing and enriching humanity! God bless you Pranav! Just use the inside portion ;) I tried passion fruit milkshake couple of days back and it turned out to be yummy. Take the pulp from inside the passion fruit, put it in the blender. Add milk, sugar/honey and ice. After blending filter the liquid to remove the seeds. There you go! I would be trying variations later, would let you know about it. The worst advertisement campaign ever...

Remy's Recipe - Wheat n Sweet Pancake

There are 13 signals, from my home to work, and I live just 3 streets away! You take a turn or just go two blocks more and its right there. It makes me remember Chennai, as I grew up the roads became so busy and congested and signals appeared on every corner. I guess life is also like that .As I grew up there are red signals everywhere, putting so many restrictions on what I can and cannot do. The worst is the invisible yellow lines drawn not only by parents but by some friends and society. These are the people who define life by 8 hours of sleep, 10 plus hours of work and whatever rest for eating in front of the TV. These are the people who constantly believe I might ruin my life and I need help. I am expected to live a life from existing templates (mapped to age, financial status etc) and anything new seem to disturb them and the relationship I share. These days I just ignore or give a “watch me do this” stare when confronted by such criticisms. If it is too ...

Let life flow

Last weekend was perfect! It still lingers on my mind, like the sand in the shoes that walked the beach. My friend and I went to “Fountain of Wealth” - The largest fountain in the world, on Saturday evening. Every night, after the laser show, visitors can dedicate songs and laser messages for free! If you are visiting Singapore make sure to see this. It’s my 5th visit here and like Emma I too feel a deep connection and profound happiness watching flowing water (Have a look at her neat travelogues ). As we sat there watching the huge fountain in awe, I noticed most of the messages are either wishes for birthday/anniversaries or love messages. I looked around. I saw couples sitting hand in hand, some kids sitting on their parent’s lap, some playing in the puddle, friends laughing and tourists taking pictures. No difference of any sort, no hate and no debate. Just a group of people appreciating beauty of life, breathing the air filled with the drizzles of fountain and love. We had tastie...

Remy's Recipe - Coleslaw & Papaya-honey shake

Image
TGIF! One of my friends is dieting and I wanted to write a dieting recipe to encourage her. The famous Davis quote says "Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper”. So, the first mantra to dieting (not starving) is to have a healthy breakfast. And if your cereal box says it’s nutritious, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s healthy. Don’t get carried away by commercial messages, especially the ones about Kids’ cereals. (They often have more sugar than sweets, which is not healthy). Breakfast wakes up the metabolism and gets your engine running which is needed to burn to lose weight. It also sets the tone for the rest of the day. So here is a easy to make breakfast recipe which is worth trying: Remy Coleslaw and Papaya-Honey shake. To make the Remy Coleslaw salad you need: Lettuce 1 Onion 1 Tomato 1 Lemon 1 Spring onions 3 Carrot 1 Bean sprouts (optional) Yogurt 2 teaspoon Tartar sauce / Mayonnaise 4 teaspoons Honey 1 teaspoon Pepper & salt to taste C...

Remy’s Recipe – Semolina Pancake

TGIF! Couple of Indian festivals are already over and there are more to come. While it’s hard enough not being with family during occasions, missing sweets is unimaginable! So I wanted to make a sweet that's easy, fast and fried (guilty pleasure). Tada! Out came the sweet “Rava Appam” (Semolina Pancake). This is again a recipe that's customized to my taste (blame it on the craving for creativity). Ok, to make this rava appam you need: 1 cup – rava (semolina) 1 cup – sugar ½ cup - maida (maize flour) ½ cup – Rice flour 1 cup milk 1 banana 1 teaspoon ghee/butter(optional) 2 – cardamoms(optional) Oil to deep fry Now put everything (except oil and ghee) in a bowl and use your hand to mix it to the paste consistency. Use little bit of water if the paste is too thick. If you are not comfortable using your hands, use blender to whisk a little (if you grind it to smooth paste, u wont get the crunchy crispness of semolina). Leave this batter to settle for 10 minutes. Heat oil in a pan ...

TGIF!! If you like to cuddle in bed until afternoon on weekends like me, this one is just for you. It will come handy when you wake up, scratching your head (ahem...) hound hunting refrigerator, wondering what to eat. Now all you need is a drink that’s easy to make and can hold your hunger for sometime (until you cleanup to go out or decide what to cook for the day). This drink is an inspiration from Nigella feast (copy catnnu solla kudaadhu aama). Before I present thanks for the amazing response you have given to my Falooda recipe . It’s an inspiration to know my cooking is being liked by those who hadn’t even tasted it! LOL Ok now, with no delay I present to you the healthy Banana-Caffine shake. To make this, you need: 1. Banana 2. Milk 3. Sugar 4. Instant coffee powder 5. Dried nuts (optional) Peel the skin off the banana (you may use two if you are very hungry or want the shake to be thick), just toss it into the blender. Now add milk and sugar to taste. Then add half a teaspoon o...

My work mates and I, were shifting from one place to another like nomads for the last two months due to several reasons. At last, we are grateful to nest in the spacious 3+1 apartment with all the comforts and nice owner! So we invited few colleagues last Sunday for lunch to our new found heaven. Now for the record, I love cooking and often surprise everyone, including myself with tasty dishes. My two flat mates taste and approve the dishes I make. Wait, they aren't innocent white mice types you imagine them to be. But they can be mistaken for giant rats, the ones that eats everything like in Ratatouille movie. Thank god, they don't read my posts :) I became the head chef as usual, and the challenge was to cook for 10 people. The fringe benefit I received in return was very fulfilling. I got to boss around my mates happily. If I had said "hey wash this vessel , I need it" or "dice these onions fast" they would give me "what the heck" look. But they...
