I wish you were here with me, in my cubical to watch the rain, through the windows. The heavy rain is accompanied by wind blowing it in all directions. It as if she is determined to reach every nook and corner for drenching it. Rain is special to each of us, because its life in action. It’s God herself, manifesting right in front of our eyes, feeding (us) her children.

Eating by the rice fields of Bali was so addicting, that we spent good two hours relaxing in the restaurant, and then walking around its neighborhood. Later we slept our way to Butterfly Park. Actually the driver decided to stop there because we had sometime to kill before the sunset watch in an iconic place. But it turned out to be very interesting.

We walked around the park, which had so many different flowers. The main enclave with plastic chain entrance nurses the cocoons and baby butterflies. A good looking smiley patiently explained to us, a lot about the Butterflies. To me she actually looked like butterfly fairy.

One of her job is to go around the park everyday and bring the cocoons to the shelter, where it will be safe from rats, squirrels and other predators.

After about half a month the butterflies are born. They are kept in the shelter for half day, to train themselves to fly. Then they are let out to the park area, where they can feed themselves from hundreds of flowers. Unlike Singapore park, they don't feed artificial food (like banana or nectar) here. She told me that doing so would reduce the lifetime of the butterfly.

They mate only once in their life time for 8 hours & They live only for 2 weeks.

I guess life should be such. See only the beauty of life, like how they look for flowers in the garden. Find only the best out of everyone you meet, like how they find the best nectar. And live an admirable, beautiful and independent life even it’s only for a while.

Then we traveled to Tanah lot temple. We got down at the car park and walked through the vibrant market towards the sea temple. I had corn and Cendol.

Traditional Ondeh Ondeh, she held it out to me with love and i couldnt say no to it.

Cendol is made from pea dough, crushed ice, palm sugar, coconut milk and pandan leaves.Its quite popular in Singapore makhans.Sometimes they also add red beans, Very tasty and filling.

If there is a top ten list of places to watch beautiful sunsets, this would be one of them. Tanah lot means an island floating on the sea. A Hindu priest named Nirartha, advised the fisherman to build this temple here, as he felt this place to be sacred.

They say there are black and white, tame holy snakes found in the base of the island. These are believed to be the guardians of the temple from evil spirits. You can even visit the holy snakes here for a minimal fee.

There is also a holy spring at the base of the temple. I was asked to wash my face here. Later the priest blessed me, by applying rice on my forehead and keeping a flower on my ears. Then we walked around the area, posing and taking pictures.

Sun started descending and we stood on the rock mesmerized by the spectacular display of colors. Its like natural fireworks. Its the colors of life which is consistent from feathers of flies to that of skies.

Be it rain or ocean, our life is so small like that of butterfly in front of her magnificence forms. But our presence is significant like every drop of it. Thanks a lot for travelling with me. Wishing you all a trip to Bali.
